My
Oscar experience!
Below
is a copy of the article I wrote after covering some of the
post-Oscar parties held last Sunday. The biggest highlight
of the evening, you ask? Mini-hamburgers, lamb chops, and
manchego cheese. Also, watching former N'SYNC star Lance Bass
try to get recognized by fans and photographers. Sorry, man.
Tinseltown's biggest stars had plenty of places to let their
hair down after the Academy Awards Sunday night. West Hollywood
alone had four bashes taking place within a half-a-mile radius.
The short distance proved to be quite convenient for Lindsay
Lohan, who never met a party she didn't like. We caught the
teen queen walking from one party to the next with her publicist
and bodyguard in tow. She somehow even managed to change dresses
between each one. Now that's talent!
A-listers like Nicole Kidman, Jamie Foxx, Heath Ledger, Madonna,
Hilary Swank, Steven Spielberg, and Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon
-- to name a few -- mingled with one another at the annual
Vanity Fair Oscar Party located at Morton's. Unfortunately
for many of the Hollywood shmoozers, the guest list was reportedly
cut by 500 people this year.
Around
the block at the Pacific Design Center, John Legend heated
things up at Sir Elton John's AIDS Foundation Party as he
joined the famous host on stage. While the two took turns
at the piano, celebrity guests Prince, Donatella Versace,
Paris and Nicky Hilton, Sharon Stone, Ozzy Osbourne, and Olympic
gold medalist Shaun White looked on.
Though
Sir Elton's party proved to be quite lavish, it still had
to compete with newcomer US Weekly and Rolling Stone's joint
'Oscar Rocks' party held at the Design Center's Wolfgang Puck
restaurant. The latter, however, had a hard time bringing
in the big names despite the lure of DJ AM (Adam Goldstein)
spinning the music. Even his ex-fiance Nicole Richie stayed
away, though the two were spotted holding hands earlier by
onlookers at the Vanity Fair shindig.
We
ran into 'Dancing With the Stars'' Stacy Keibler at the US
Weekly bash (which boasted a mix of Mediterranean and Asian
cuisine), who said she watched the Oscars at home before making
her way to the party. 'This is my first weekend off since
September,' she gloated. Though the pro wrestler didn't pull
out the win she had hoped for on the ABC show, she seems pleased
with the exposure. 'We have a few television projects that
we're looking at,' Keibler told us in between accepting congratulations.
Taking
a break from 'The Office' was Rainn Wilson who said he hoped
to meet any of the cast from 'WKRP in Cincinnati.' Yeah, good
luck, buddy! 'I rarely get out and I guess what I most look
forward to at these parties are really strange star sightings
and desserts that I might not have tried before,' he claimed.
'I saw Mr. Eko from 'Lost' and he was awesome so it's just
nice to meet people like that.'
